C’était l’un des tout premiers châles crochetés en forme de demi-lune, et il se crochète et se porte avec autant de plaisir qu’il y a cinq ans.

It was one of the very first crocheted shawls shaped as a crescent, and it’s just as pleasant to make and wear today.

Si je devais crocheter Victoria aujourd’hui, je choisirais du mérinos fin, ou l’un des coloris « fondus » de la Mini Mochi, comme Seaview, pour un châle lumineux de printemps, ou Drama, pour une pièce plus … « dramatique » ! Dans tous les cas, avec un fil de cette grosseur, il m’en faudrait 3 pelotes.

If I were to crochet Victoria today, I’d choose my fingering weight merino, or one of the more tonal Mini Mochi colourways, as Seaview, for a luminous spring shawl, or Drama, for a more… « dramatic » accessory! In any case, with a fingering weight yarn as these two, I’d need 3 balls.

Ou alors, je tenterais une version en duvet de yak (parce que j’adore vraiment cette matière, et ce serait une nouvelle occasion de porter cette douceur autour du cou …). Je ne changerais pas le numéro du crochet, pour un résultat vraiment aérien. Il m’en faudrait 4 pelotes.

Or I’d try a version in yak down (because I really love this fibre, and it would be new occasion to wear it around my neck…). I wouldn’t change hook size, to get a really lightweigt shawl. I would need 4 balls.

Le Victoria de Valérie – Valérie’s Victoria

Cela fait longtemps! Quelques jours de vacances, suivis du crochetage intensif d’un modèle qui sera publié à l’automne… du coup, je cours après le temps!

It’s been a long time! A few days of vacation, followed by hectic crocheting of a design to be published this fall… and now, I’m running after time!

Mais pendant que je cours, d’autres crochètent et tricotent. Comme Valérie, qui a réalisé le châle Victoria pour une amie – superbement crocheté, superbement photographié!

Je vous présente Victoria, la dernière création d’EclatDuSoleil – un petit châle totalement sublime.

Si vous gardez jalousement sous le coude un écheveau d’un fil d’exception, inlassablement à la recherche du modèle qui le mérite, le voici.

If you have a precious skein of yarn tucked away for a very special project, this is the pattern you were looking for.

Victoria, travaillé du haut vers le bas, saura s’adapter à la quantité que vous avez. Suivant la qualité dont il s’agit, le caractère du châle sera différent. Mais le point sera toujours aussi beau et simple à travailler.

Victoria is worked top-down, which makes it easily adaptable to the quantity of yarn on hand. Depending on the fiber chosen, the shawl will take on a different personality. The stitch pattern will, however, remain just as beautiful and easy to work.

Victoria, en forme de croissant de lune allongé, peut se porter de toutes les façons. En hiver, comme une écharpe autour de votre cou. En été, posé sur vos épaules pour habiller une robe simple ou élégante. Et en toute saison comme un châle classique.
