Lucinda et/and Lori

Deux modèles du livre Madder Anthology 2 de Carrie Bostick Hoge, que je vous propose de réaliser en bambou dentelle tenu en double.

Two designs from Carrie Bostick Hoge’s book Madder Anthology 2. Yarn suggestion: laceweight bamboo held double.

Lucinda est un pull avec une encolure en V devant et derrière. Les explications sont données pour 10 tailles, avec un tour de poitrine du vêtement de 94 (102, 112, 121.5, 130, 138, 147.5, 157, 164.5, 174) cm. Le pull photographié est porté avec 23 cm d’aisance.

Lucinda is a sweater with a V-neck front and back. The pattern is written for 10 sizes, with a finished bust width of 94 (102, 112, 121.5, 130, 138, 147.5, 157, 164.5, 174) cm. The sweater in the pictures is worn with 23 cm of ease.

Lucinda se tricote du bas vers le haut pour le corps. On tricote en rond jusqu’aux emmanchures, et ensuite en rangs. Les mailles des manches sont relevées le long des emmanchures, et les manches sont ensuite tricotées en rond vers le bas.

Lucinda is knitted bottom-up in the round to the armholes. The yoke is worked back and forth. Sleeves stitches are picked up along the armholes, and the sleeves are knitted top-down in the round.

Si vous souhaitez réaliser Lucinda en bambou dentelle tenu en double, je vous conseille de choisir une taille avec moins d’aisance que dans les photos, et de réaliser les manches courtes (en réalité 3/4) plutôt que des manches longues. En effet, le bambou n’ayant pas d’élasticité,  le vêtement s’allongera un peu quand il sera porté. Suivant la taille choisi, et en tenant compte du double métrage, il vous faudra 7 (8, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 14) pelotes de bambou dentelle.

If you want to knit Lucinda in laceweight bamboo held double, I recommend choosing a size with less ease than the sweater in the pictures, and to work the shorter sleeve version. Bamboo is a non-elastic fiber, and the garment will stretch out when worn. Depending on the chosen size, and doubling yardage for holding the yarn double, you will need 7 (8, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 14) balls of laceweight bamboo.

Le bambou est une matière superbe pour les châles, et sera parfaitement adapté à la réalisation du châle Lori, un triangle asymétrique.

Bamboo is a lovely fiber for shawls, and will be deliciously soft knitted up in the shawl Lori, an asymmetrical triangle.

Pour un grand châle comme celui photographié il faudra tenir le bambou dentelle en double et prévoir 5 pelotes. Vous pouvez aussi travailler le bambou en simple, en le déjaugeant (= le travailler avec des aiguilles assez grosses par rapport à sa grosseur) et obtenir un châle tout léger et plus petit avec environ 3 pelotes.

For a larger shawl as the one pictured here, you will need to hold the laceweight bamboo double and use 5 balls. You can also use a single strand of bamboo, working it loosely, and obtain a lighter and slightly smaller shawl with approximately 3 balls.
