Solveig is a « baktus »-type shawlette created by EclatDuSoleil.
Un « baktus »est travaillé à la verticale d’une pointe à l’autre. On commence petit, on augmente d’un côté pour créer la pointe centrale, puis on diminue en symétrie.
A « baktus » is worked vertically from one end to the other. You start out small, you increase on one side to create the center tip, and then you decrease symmetrically.
Pour Solveig, EclatDuSoleil a utilisé un point texturé. Elle a créé des augmentations et des diminutions qui s’intègrent dans le point avec beaucoup d’élégance.
For Solveig, EclatDuSoleil used a textured stitch. She created increases and decreases that work organically and elegantly with the stitch pattern.
Ajoutez un volant joli et astucieux, et vous êtes fin prête!

I have enjoyed many patterns from your site and all from EclatduSoleil. I hope to send pictures at sometime. However, now I am ready to start this Solveig shawl. I will practice a bit with an appropriate yarn and hook before I start the real shawl. However, can you please advise what the gauge is for the longer/gray version? Then I can play with the math and figure out what works for me, to get the right length. Thank you.
