Lucia, Barn et/and Liv

Petite présentation de trois modèles du livre Madder Anthology 2 – Simple Pleasures, par Carrie Bostick Hoge. Le point commun (à part d’être issus du même livre …) : ils peuvent tous se tricoter en mérinos épais, avec un échantillon de 18 m aux 10 cm.

A small presentation of three patterns from the book Madder Anthology 2 – Simple Pleasures by Carrie Bostick Hoge. They all have one thing in common (except that they are all in the same book…): they can be knitted in a worsted weight yarn, with a gauge of 18 sts per 10 cm, such as my worsted weight merino.

Lucia, veste à capuche, disponible en 9 tailles avec une tour de poitrine du vêtement fini de 84 (93, 101.5, 110.5, 121, 129, 138, 147, 155.5) cm. La veste photographiée a été tricotée dans la 2ème taille, et est portée avec 6 cm d’aisance.

The hoodie Lucia is available in 9 sizes with a bust width of the finished garment of 84 (93, 101.5, 110.5, 121, 129, 138, 147, 155.5) cm. The jacket in the photos was knitted in the 93 cm size and is worn with 6 cm of ease.

Lucia se tricote du bas vers le haut en une seule pièce. Les manches sont commencées à part, tricotées en rangs, et on assemble le tout au niveau des emmanchures pour continuer avec l’empiècement. On enchaîne ensuite sur la capuche, sans couture.

Lucia is knitted bottom up in one piece. The sleeves are started separately and worked flat. Everything is joined together at the armscyes, to knit the yoke. The hood is knitted right off the yoke, without any seaming.

Si vous souhaitez tricoter Lucia en mérinos épais, il faut prévoir (selon les tailles indiquées ci-dessus) 16 (17, 18, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24, 26) pelotes. Les capuches sont gourmandes en fil !

If you wish to knit Lucia in my worsted weight merino, you will need (in the sizes indicated above) 16 (17, 18, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24, 26) balls. Hoods eat up a lot of yarn!

Barn est un gilet avec col qui peut se tricoter avec des manches 3/4, comme ici, ou avec des manches longues. Les explications sont données pour 7 tailles, avec une tour de poitrine de la veste fermée de 79 (88, 97, 109, 117.5, 126.5, 135.5) cm. La veste photographiée est portée avec 2 cm d’aisance.

Barn is a jacket with collar that can be knitted with 3/4 sleeves, as in the pictures, or with long sleeves. The pattern contains 7 sizes, with a bust width for the finished garment of 79 (88, 97, 109, 117.5, 126.5, 135.5) cm. The jacket shown here is worn with 2 cm of ease.

Barn se tricote du haut vers le bas, en commençant par le col. Il se tricote entièrement en rangs (à plat), y compris les manches qui sont donc fermées par une couture à la fin.

Barn is knitted top-down, starting with the collar. It is knit entirely flat, including the sleeves that are sewn up at the end.

Si vous voulez tricoter Barn en mérinos épais, il faut prévoir 13 (14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 21) pelotes pour une veste à manches 3/4, et 14 (15, 17, 18, 19, 21, 23) pelotes si vous préférez des manches longues.

If you want to knit Barn in my worsted weight merino, you will need 13 (14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 21) balls for a garment with 3/4 sleeves, and 14 (15, 17, 18, 19, 21, 23) balls if you prefer long sleeves.

Liv est une veste où les devants s’élargissent vers le bas, pour créer une forme un peu kimono, avec un beau mouvement. Je vous avoue que c’est l’un de mes modèles préférés du livres – j’aimerais bien le tricoter et surtout le porter ! La veste est expliquée en 9 tailles, avec un tour de poitrine du vêtement terminé de 77 (86, 94, 104, 112, 122, 129.5, 137, 139) cm. La veste photographiée est portée avec 2 cm d’aisance.

Liv is a jacket where the fronts widen towards the bottom hem. This creates a kind of kimono shap, with great movement. I must admit that this is one of my own favourites in the book – I’d like to knit it and I’d love to wear it! The pattern is given in 9 sizes, with a bust width of the finished garment of 77 (86, 94, 104, 112, 122, 129.5, 137, 139) cm. The jacket in the pictures is worn with 2 cm of ease.

Liv se tricote du haut vers le bas. Comme c’est une veste ouverte, on tricote l’empiècement et le corps en rangs. Selon les explications, les manches se tricotent en rond (personnellement, je les ferais plutôt à plat, pour avoir le même rendu de partout – mais cela n’engage que moi !). Donc, si on suit les explications à la lettre, pratiquement pas de couture. La bande de devant est relevée et tricotée à la fin.

Liv is knitted top-down. Since it’s an open jacket, the yoke and the body are knitted flat. According to the pattern, the sleeves are knitted in the round (I’d personally knit them flat, for consistency, but that’s just me!). So, if you follow the pattern, there is hardly any seaming at all. The front band is picked up and knitted at the end.

Pour tricoter Liv en mérinos épais, il faut prévoir 11 (12, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20) pelotes.
